This chapter examines the characteristics of business cycles in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean over the period from 1990 to 2016. The empirical analysis allows three cycles to be distinguished over this time, the first running from 1990 to 2001, the second from 2002 to 2008 and the third from 2009 to 2016.
