NATURAL fibers used in manufacture include a large variety of different materials of vegetable and animal origin. Of these, the following nine fibers of major economic significance are considered in this report: cotton, wool, silk, flax, hemp, jute, abaca, sisal, and henequen. The last three are the major hard fibers.
