How can we build vaccine confidence?

The decision to vaccinate a child depends in part on trust – a parent’s or caregiver’s level of faith in government, the health-care system, health workers, vaccine producers and vaccines. Worryingly, there are signs in many countries of declines in vaccine confidence. In response, stronger action is needed to reassure parents and caregivers, including through community engagement and ownership, social listening and pro-vaccine education, and by empowering women and girls.
