Located in the Southern Caucasus, Armenia is a small3 upper-middle income landlocked country with real gross domestic product (GDP) per capita reaching USD 3,3936.8 in 2017.4 The country, which shares borders with Georgia in the north, Azerbaijan in the east, Turkey in the west and Iran in the south, is endowed with rich mineral resources, including gold, silver and scarce metals.
