It is standard practice in many States to require the payment of a fee for registration services. In return for that fee, registered businesses receive access to business registry services and to the many advantages that registration offers them. The most common types of fees are those payable for registration of a business and for the provision of information products and services. In some jurisdictions, registries may also charge an annual fee to keep a business in the registry (these fees are unrelated to any particular activity), as well as fees to register annual accounts or fnancial statements.
