Interpreting disability prevalence data

The purpose of this Chapter is to discuss the main parameters that affect disability prevalence as reported by ESCAP members and associate members. It reviews disability models, frameworks and data collection methods. It also uses an example of two countries from the region, Australia and Lao People's Democratic Republic, to illustrate how different approaches to defining and measuring disability may generate different disability prevalence outcomes.
