Alternative frameworks considered

Analysis in the report, rather than simply addressing the 17 SDGs one by one, is framed in such a way as to group related issues together, thereby facilitating interpretation of results. The framework builds on the idea that sustainable development requires convergence between the three aspects of economic development, social equity and environmental protection (with governance often added as a fourth aspect).
