Generic Statistical Business Process Model

The act of data collection, whether carried out through a survey or not, should not be considered in isolation but as part of a statistical process having various phases, from the identification of users’ needs and the objectives of the generic statistical data collection, through the design and processing phases to the final stages of data dissemination and evaluation. When planning a survey, for example, it is important to have a clear understanding of the data needs, the data that are already available from other surveys or data sources, and the type of information that is intended to be disseminated and the means for doing so.
