World Health Organization (WHO)

The World Health Organization (WHO) moved forward in 1999 with its new corporate strategy of health for all, comprising four interrelated priorities: reducing excess mortality, morbidity and disability, especially in poor countries; promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing factors of risk to human health arising from environmental, economic, social and behavioural causes; developing more equitable and financially fair health systems; and developing an enabling policy and institutional environment in the health sector.
