Are standards, technical regulations and SPS measures barriers to trade and how can these barriers be overcome?

Barriers to trade are measures in place in the country to which you wish to export which make it difficult or even impossible for you to export your product to it. They can take many forms but are generally classified in two broad categories: tariff barriers and non-tariff barriers. Technical regulations and SPS measures are considered non-tariff barriers.
