Requirements for pre-packed goods offered for sale are regulated in many countries and very often differ. The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has prepared two recommendations on these requirements: ‘R 79, Labelling requirements for pre-packed products’ (1997) and ‘R 87, Net content in packages’ (2004/2008).
