Most vulnerabilities to sustainable development relate to the economic structure and concentration of economic activity in sectors with a relatively low employment share, associated with rising inequality and fewer opportunities for the expansion of productive activities, the rising incidence of natural disasters associated with a loss of agriculture and industrial output, and increasing debt encumbered to finance post-disaster reconstruction.
