The SWITCH Africa Green and SwitchMed Initiatives

The SWITCH to Green (S2G) Initiative was launched by the European Commission Directorate International Partnership as a gateway to facilitate the transition to an inclusive green economy. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), a green economy is one that results in improved human well-being and social equity while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. In simple terms, a green economy can be considered as one that is low in carbon, resource efficient, and socially inclusive (UNEP, 2023c).
