Environmental Performance Reviews: Azerbaijan
This second Environmental Performance Reviews covers the nine issues of importance to Azerbaijan related to policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors in particular the sustainable management and protection of water resources and the protection of the Caspian Sea waste management air management forestry biodiversity and protected areas.
Environmental Performance Reviews: Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Environmental Performance Reviews Programme is considered an important instrument for countries with economies in transition. The second round puts particular emphasis on implementation integration financing and the socio-economic interface with the environment. This report takes stock of the progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina in the management of its environment since the country was first reviewed in 2004. It assesses the implementation of the recommendations in the first review (Annex I). It also covers nine issues of importance to Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors in particular water management waste management and forestry.
Environmental Performance Reviews: Turkmenistan
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) carries out Environmental Performance Reviews (EPR) in its member States that are not members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in order to improve their environmental management by recommending ways to achieve better policy implementation. This first EPR of Turkmenistan covers 13 issues related to policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors in particular the sustainable management and protection of water resources waste management air pollution forestry biodiversity and protected areas energy and climate change.
Environmental Performance Reviews: Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
The first Environmental Performance Reviews (EPR) of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was carried out in 2002. This second review intends to measure the progress made by the country in managing its environment and in addressing upcoming environmental challenges since the first EPR. To fight its difficult economic situation after gaining its independence in 1991 the government carried out regulatory and structural reforms in order to correct its macroeconomic instability and facilitate the transition to a market economy. It pursued a range of economic reforms which were aimed at stimulating economic growth and improving the living standards of the population through development of the private sector improvement of the investment climate and greater job creation.
Environmental Performance Reviews: Albania
The present publication takes stock of the progress made by Albania in the management of its environment since the country was first reviewed in 2002. It assesses the implementation of the recommendations contained in the first review. This second Environmental Performance Reviews also covers 10 issues of importance to Albania related to policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors in particular the sustainable management of water resources waste management forestry biodiversity and protected areas energy and environment and environmental health.
Environmental Performance Reviews: Georgia
This is the second EPR of Georgia published by UNECE. The report takes stock of the progress made by Georgia in the management of its environment since the country was first reviewed in 2001. It assesses the implementation of the recommendations in the first review (Annex I). It also covers nine issues of importance to Georgia concerning policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors in particular water management waste management risk management and forestry. The main outcome of the EPR is the recommendations which were elaborated by the Expert Group peer reviewed discussed with a high-level delegation from Georgia and adopted by the UNECE Committee on Environmental Policy on 15 March 2010.

The report takes stock of the progress made by Kyrgyzstan in the management of its environment since the country was first reviewed in 2000. It assesses the implementation of the recommendations in the first review. It also covers nine issues of importance to Kyrgyzstan concerning policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors in particular water management land management and biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of forests. The report places particular emphasis on the promotion of sustainable development as the country gives a high priority to this issue.

This is the second Environmental Performance Review (EPR) of Uzbekistan published by UNECE. The report takes stock of the progress made by Uzbekistan in the management of its environment since the country was first reviewed in 2001. It assesses the implementation of the recommendations in the first review (Annex I). It also covers nine issues of importance to Uzbekistan concerning policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors in particular water management land management energy and climate change. The report places particular emphasis on climate change and water as the country gives a high priority to this issue.

The present report takes stock of the progress made by Montenegro in the management of its environment since the country was first reviewed in 2002 when the country was part of Yugoslavia. While looking closely at the implementation of the recommendations of the first review the report also covers seven issues of importance to Montenegro concerning policymaking planning and implementation the financing of environmental policies and projects and the integration of environmental concerns into economic sectors and the promotion of sustainable development.

This second Environmental Performance Review of Ukraine was carried out seven years after the first Review in 1999. It intends to measure the progress made by the country in managing its environment since then and in addressing upcoming environmental challenges.

The second is an assessment of the problems encountered and solutions sought with regard to five priorities for Estonian environmental management. The final theme is an evaluation of the progress made in implementing the recommendations of the first review.

Environmental Performance Reviews: Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Environmental Performance Review of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the twentieth in the series published by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. The report covers twelve issues of importance to Bosnia and Herzegovina divided into three sections including the framework for environmental policy management of pollution and natural resources and economic and sectoral integration. Among the issues receiving special attention are the policy legal and institutional framework public participation in decision-making and access to information; the use and supply of water resources including drinking water; land use agriculture and biodiversity; management of waste and contaminated sites eco-tourism and energy.
