The Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean is issued annually by the Economic Development Division of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). It covers the economic situation in Latin America and the Caribbean and provides a concurrent economic overview of the region as provided by the Division and other experts based on statistical indicators which are collected annually.

Preliminary Overview of the Economy of Latin America and the Caribbean

This publication appears at the end of each year. It contains a description and asessment of the economic performance of the region during the year and provides updated detailed information about the evolution of macroeconomic variables in the region as an aggregate and in most individual countries. It stands as the earliest source of information on the region's economic performance for the entire year. The reports includes a Regional Panorama based on a global and sectoral approach; growth projections for the following year are included. Additionally individual country chapters cover the economies in Latin American and a the Caribbean. This document is prepared by the Economic Development Division in collaboration with the Statistics Division and the subregional and national offices of the ECLAC.

MDG Gap Task Force Report

The MDG Gap Task Force was created by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in May 2007 to improve monitoring of the global commitments contained in MDG 8 the Global Partnership for Development. The main purpose of the Task Force is to systematically track existing international commitments and to identify gaps and obstacles in their fulfillment at the international regional and country level in the areas of official development assistance market access (trade) debt sustainability and access to essential medicines and new technologies. The Task Force integrates more than 30 United Nations and other international agencies. An annual report of the MDG Gap Task Force is published each September.
