There is a strong business case for installing and operating high-efficiency gas drainage systems and utilising the captured gas. There are a wide range of potential CMM end uses that have been commercially and profitably employed globally. The high costs associated with purifying drained gas to improve the methane concentration for a particular end use can often be avoided by improving underground methane drainage practices.
