Activism for disarmament is often strengthened by public events. A well-timed event can disseminate information for awareness, crystalize different but related issues, mobilize people into social movements, raise money for projects, create new networks of interested groups, make visible the critical issues, promote upcoming events, as well as educate and train people to become agents for social change.
