International transfers of conventional arms

A significant number of states contiqued to exhibit, during 1977, great concern over the problem of international transfers of conventional weapons. That concern reflected the view that world peace and security as well as economic progress, especially of the developing countries, could be jeopardized and existing sensitive situations exacerbated by the spiralling traflic in conventional arms.
