Other conventional weapons issues

Issues concerning conventional arms and armed forces have been on the United Nations agenda since its creation, with varying degrees of emphasis. In the 1980s, the need to address conventional disarmament in a systematic way, led to a study on the subject undertaken by the Secretary-General with the assistance of a group of qualified experts.
