It is my pleasure to introduce Part II of the 2018 United Nations Disarmament Yearbook. This forty-third annual edition of the publication, like those before it, is intended to provide diplomats, professionals and the interested public with comprehensive and objective insight into the year’s developments in the areas of disarmament, non-proliferation and arms control. Decades after its first volume went to press, the Yearbook continues to provide a consistent measure of international progress in tackling some of our most consequential challenges.
