The Department for Disarmament Affairs, renamed United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs in 2007 (UNODA) Occasional Papers is a series of ad hoc publications presenting, in edited form, papers or statements made at meetings, symposiums, seminars, workshops or lectures that deal with topical issues in the field of arms limitation, disarmament and international security. They are intended primarily for those concerned with these matters in Government, civil society and in the academic community.

EU-Outreach Project—Pilot project 2005 enhancing EU cooperation with third countries in the field of export control of dual-use items

The European Union launched an extensive outreach programme on export controls — Pilot Project 2005 — which is implemented by a designated agency of the European Commission. The following powerpoint presentation outlines the project’s purpose and relation to UNSCR 1540 and the implementation of its legal, licensing, customs, industry awareness raising and sanctions components.
