United States: Working towards full implementation

The United States considers resolution 1540 an important global component in preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) — by both State and non-state actors. It is ready to work with other States to identify and share lessons learned and best practices, and to help States who seek assistance to develop plans for implementing the resolution. It currently provides significant support to States attempting full implementation, and wishes to increase efforts, enhance coordination with other donors and streamline its undertakings.
