Manufacturing industry
In 1966 the growth rate of Latin American industry was slightly lower than in the preceding year, thus continuing the downward trend shown since the late fifties. Whereas the average rate of expansion of the region’s industry as a whole had been 6.4 per cent for the period 1955-60, it was per cent for 1960-65, 4.9 per cent in 1965 and 5 per cent in 1966.
