Poverty and occupational category

The economic crisis of the 1980s and the structural and macroeconomic reforms carried out in the region produced significant changes in the profile and levels of urban employment and underemployment in the Latin American countries. Nevertheless, in most countries, 70% of employed persons in urban areas are still wage earners.
