World Summary

This part of the Yearbook is a summary of the basic series required to assess the major trends in the development of the world economy. Data are supplied, in almost all cases, for the world as a whole and also, where possible, for regions and major economic groupings. For detailed information on individual countries, reference should be made to the corresponding tables which appear in the subsequent parts of the Yearbook. Regional totals may contain slight incomparabilities between series owing to small differences in definition of the regions and lack of data for particular regional components.
