How can I get information about prices for my goods in the markets I export to?

Unlike consumer products or products you are able to purchase as a single item, it is very difficult to find the exact price for your export product in the automotive component industry. The reason is quite simple: you cannot buy the product in the market. You can buy the end result – a car – but you cannot draw any conclusions from that purchase. The price of a car’s components is one of the best-kept secrets in the automotive industry. It also does not help if you try to buy a spare part. Often spare parts are not manufactured by the same company which delivered the original product to the car manufacturer. Additionally, retail prices vary heavily from retailer to retailer and from product to product.
