Stories of Innovative Entrepreneurship

image of Service Pioneers

Challenging the notion that developing countries essentially export commodities, this book showcases the diversity of trade in services that flourishes in developing and least developed countries. With 28 case studies of entrepreneurs from 18 developing countries in a wide range of trade in service sectors, the book serves as an inspiration for would-be entrepreneurs. Viet Nam

The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, with a population of over 84 million, has one of South-east Asia’s fastest growing economies. The country has made great strides in recent years, recovering from the ravages of war and post-reunification economic stagnation, fuelled by its Doi Moi (renovation) reform package. Between 2004 and 2007, Viet Nam’s GDP grew over 8% annually. Accounting for 38% of GDP in 2006, the country’s services sector is an important factor in this expansion.
