Generalized System of Preferences
Handbook on the Scheme of Japan - Seventh Edition
The handbook series promotes greater awareness among exporters and government officials in developing countries on trading opportunities available under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) and a better understanding of applicable rules and regulations with a view to facilitating their effective utilization. The Japanese legislation implementing a system of tariff preferences in favour of developing countries entered into effect on 1 August 1971, and has been extended several times up until today. This handbook provides a general explanation of Japan’s scheme to allow officials and users responsible or involved in GSP issues to gain a better understanding of it.
