The labor market in Africa

The African Statistical Yearbook is produced annually by the three pan-African institutions: the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). Each year it adopts a new strategic focus of specific importance to the continent and this year’s theme is the relationship between the labor market and economic and social development, as this affects Africa’s future growth. It is envisioned that this analysis will bolster the case for accelerated policies and interventions to remedy the un employment situation and strengthen political will for the fight against poverty.
