In accordance with General Assembly resolution 31/90, in which the Assembly endorsed the agreed proposals made by the Ad Hoc Committee on the Review of the Role of the United Nations in the Field of Disarmament, the Secretariat is publishing the second volume of The United Nations Disarmament Yearbook, which contains a descriptive review of the main developments and negotiations in the field of disarmament during 1977. The Ad Hoc Committee had recommended that the Disarmament Yearbook should be published annually, before the regular session of the General Assembly.
