Preface

On 27 and 28 November, the United Nations Seminar on “Implementing Security Council Resolution 1540 (2004) in Latin America and the Caribbean” was held in Lima, Peru. The seminar was hosted by the Government of Peru, organized by the Office for Disarmament Affairs (ODA), and co-sponsored by the European Union and the Government of Spain. The seminar was a follow-up to other events related to the resolution’s implementation in the region, which took place in Antigua, Guatemala (2004) and in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2005).
