The evolution of the economy during the two-year period 1963-64: Its rade and determining factors

In most of the Latin American countries, economic conditions tended to evolve favourably in 1964. In some, the growth rate gathered speed under the increasingly dynamic pressure of factors that were already making their presence felt before that year, while, in others, the improvement essentially denoted a recovery after the economic weakness or recession of the immediate past. Nevertheless, large areas of Latin America continued to suffer from the same sluggish growth or weakness that had characterized them in 1963.
