1945

Railway traffic continued to develop in 1966 along the same lines as in the past few years. The incomplete data available show that passenger traffic declined further while freight increased moderately. Efforts to co-ordinate South American railway services were sustained and the activities of the Latin American Railways Association (ALAF) continued to expand. As in 1965, the financial position of railway companies was still a source of concern.
