The evolution of the Latin American Economy in 1976

In the majority of Latin American countries, 1976 was characterized by a pronounced recovery of their economic growth. The growth rate of the gross domestic product of the region as a whole rose only moderately, it is true, but if Argentina and Mexico, which were affected by special problems, are excluded, the growth rate in the remainder of the region was comparable to the very high rates recorded in the early 1970s.
