The responsibility for compiling the complete national accounts (the macroeconomic aggregates useful for analysis, economic forecasting and planning) is granted to the National Institute of Statistics (INS - Institut National de la Statistique) by the decree N° 2004-264/PRM/ME/F of 14 September 2004, which transformed the former Directorate of Statistics and National Accounts (Direction de la Statistique et des Comptes Nationaux) into the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
