During 2007, the States Parties to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) continued to build steadily upon recent activities. The annual meetings from 2003 to 2005 stressed international efforts on evolving biological weapons threats and the Sixth Review Conference in 2006 was praised by many for its forward-thinking and comprehensive efforts. In accordance with the decisions and recommendations adopted by consensus at the Review Conference, the BWC embarked on a new cycle of meetings that will lead up to the 2011 Seventh Review Conference.
