In relation to the follow-up to resolution WHA32.24 adopted by the World Health Assembly on 24 May 1979 and to resolution WHA33.24 dated 23 May 1980 which, inter alia, recalled the role of health in relation to the strengthening of peace, detente and disarmament, WHO member States at the thirty-fourth World Health Assembly, held in Geneva in May 1981, adopted a resolution entitled “The role of physicians and other health workers in the preservation and promotion of peace as the most significant factor for the attainment of health for all” (resolution WHA34.38).
