Mexico is focusing on the risks arising from inadequate handling of chemical, bacteriological, radioactive and nuclear materials. The best way to address threats posed by weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their means of delivery is to comply fully with the obligations established in the relevant international instruments. The Mexican National Authority (ANM) aims to prevent the development, production, storage or use of potential precursors as non-conventional weapons on Mexican territory. It will encourage information exchange and international assistance. Mexico’s domestic legislation endeavours to avert the proliferation of such weapons, and will set up a highlevel specialized committee to harmonize obligations under the international treaties.
