Software market orientation — selected cases

The preceding chapter showed that countries have followed different paths with regard to the role of software in their economies. Special attention was given to the market orientation, that is, the extent to which the software industry is mainly servicing domestic or export markets. This chapter looks at the experience of selected countries in which the software sector plays an important role in the economy but which demonstrate markedly different market focuses.
