In 2012, the value (in current US$) of exports of "communications services" (EBOPS 2002 code 245) increased by 5.2 percent (compared to 3.1 percent average growth rate from 2008-2012) to reach 107.0 bln US$ (see table 2), while imports increased by 2.7 percent to reach 88.2 bln US$ (see table 3). Exports of this service accounted for 2.4 percent of total world services exports (see table 1). USA, Germany and United Kingdom were the top exporters in 2012 (see table 2). They accounted for 13.5, 11.2 and 8.9 percent of world exports, respectively. Germany, USA and United Kingdom were the top importers, with respectively 13.1, 9.6 and 8.0 percent of world imports (see table 3).
