As the successor institution to both the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) maintains and promotes the legacies of both ad hoc Tribunals, pursuant to the mandate of the IRMCT as set out by the United Nations Security Council. As part of its efforts in this regard, the IRMCT continues to build upon the longstanding ICTR practice of publishing a bibliography every two years. The first edition of this bibliography was published in 2011 by the ICTR Legal Library and the tradition was continued by the Mechanism’s first Registrar, John Hocking, and included references to publications dealing with the tribunals and the IRMCT.
