In order to prepare and promote your capabilities, your advisory council will need to have a clear picture of the competitive environment. From the employment perspective, back office operations can vary considerably in size. In the United States the number of employees per operation ranges from 30 to 2,000 employees; a few operations have less than 10. In developing countries, smaller operations with 15 to 250 employees are more common. On average, there is one supervisor for every 30 employees, though smaller teams are more desirable.
