The digital revolution has changed the way we work, access information and connect with each other. It offers opportunities to those who can access and use the new technologies, but also presents new challenges for those who are left behind, increasing divides as a result. Although this revolution is reaching rural areas in many developing countries, the rural digital divide is still an issue, and disparities are growing with the introduction of fastchanging technologies. The challenges are especially acute for women, who face a triple divide: digital, rural and gender.
