Children’s Human Rights, Early Role Differentiation and Teenage Pregnancy

The Convention provides a framework of international legal norms for the protection and development of children. In essence, it advocates a new perspective and a fundamental, qualitative change in the way the legal system and society view children. It thus represents the consensus position of the world's various cultures and legal systems regarding the conceptualization and transformation of such fundamental issues as law and social policy, which -implicitly or explicitly- express the prevailing attitude towards children and the way in which their rights and duties are viewed and upheld.
