Towards a sustainable world through positive feedback loops between critical issues

Specialists at Hokkaido University have clearly stated that global warming may possibly increase through drastic change caused by positive feedback between ecosystems and climate systems through geochemical components. These drastic changes will have an impact on biological resources both on land and in the ocean. It is therefore necessary to keep a close watch on sensitive areas such as ice sheets as well as warning signals from particular indices, including sea ice cover in the Arctic. Information about these changes and their impact needs to be given appropriate publicity so that global citizens can make informed decisions.
