This chapter reviews the quality of air and the phasing out of ozone-depleting substances in ESCWA member countries. It covers carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per country and per capita between 2005 and 2009, in addition to the consumption of ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and other ozone-depleting substances between 2008 and 2012.
