In 2012, the value (in current US$) of exports of "construction services" (EBOPS 2002 code 249) increased by 2.8 percent (compared to an average growth rate of less than 0.1 percent from 2008-2012) to reach 105.4 bln US$ (see table 2), while imports increased by 7.7 percent to reach 87.6 bln US$ (see table 3). Exports of this service accounted for 2.4 percent of total world services exports (see table 1). Rep. of Korea, China and Japan were the top exporters in 2012 (see table 2). They accounted for 20.8, 11.6 and 11.0 percent of world exports, respectively. Germany, Japan and Russian Federation were the top importers, with respectively 9.0, 8.9 and 8.7 percent of world imports (see table 3).
