Discrimination

This chapter contains articles by geographically diverse authors showing that, all over the world, the death penalty disproportionately targets members of marginalised groups. Discrimination can be based on various characteristics— including racial, ethnic and cultural identity or mental disability—but poverty almost always plays a role.
