تنصُّ اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الاتِّجار غير المشروع في الم خدِّر ات والم ؤثِّرات العقلية لسنة ١٩٨٨ على أن تقدِّم الهيئة الدولية لمراقبة المخدِّرات تقريرًا سنويا إلى لجنة المخدِّرات عن تنفيذ المادة ١٢ من الاتفاقية، وأن تستعرض اللجنة دوريا مدى كفاية وملاءمة الجدولين الأول والثاني من الاتفاقية.
