Given the success of the Millennium Development Goals in achieving a decline in global poverty and health problems by 2015, a new set of goals have been drawn up to build upon those achievements while addressing their perceved gaps and accounting for the world’s growing population. The Sustainable Development Goals deal with the challenges facing a new generation and include among its targets a number of key transport targets.
